Carl’s Pot Roast Recipe


This is just a delicious way to make pot roast.  The meat is so tender, it tears apart with a fork.  It’s a ready meal all in one.


Ingredients:

4-5 lbs. of Chuck Roast

3-4 Tbsp. Oil

2 cups Water

1 Onion, sliced

2 Carrots, chopped

4 Idaho Potatoes (skinned and cut into pieces) or 12 New Potatoes, skinned

1/4 cup Flour

1/8 cup Soy Sauce

Pepper to taste


Directions:

Brown in cast iron skillet the meat on both sides with oil.  Add water and sliced onion.


Cover cast iron pot and cook for 2 hours at 350 degrees F.


Add carrots and potatoes, and cook until done (another hour).


Remove carrots, potatoes, and onions.  Also remove meat from cast iron pot.  Take juices and add flower and stir on heat until gravy is thick.  Add soy sauce and pepper.  Ready to serve.
